A Family Passion for Weddings
I grew up with Brides. Literally. My mom is a Custom Wedding Dress Designer and I grew up between rolls of lace, spools of ribbon, white shoes, rhinestone buttons and all the cute things I girl could dream off.
Some how, after studying and working in unrelated fields, by chance I ended coming back to the same business I had known all my life.
I started with my own wedding over 12 years ago. When silk flowers were actually silk and there was no Etsy. I looked for silk flowers to purchase for my overseas wedding and couldn’t find anything that I liked. So I made my own!
Well, like many Brides do, I changed my mind. From a “fall” theme I went to a tropical theme and I could no longer use those flowers. So the sabby shopper that I was, I posted them in an online auction site and voila! They sold… and surprisingly very fast!
I saw an opportunity and a niche. A need for fresh looking silk flowers and cute custom accessories. And like that, in just one “bid”, Wedideas.com was born.
This business has been with me through 3 children, 3 house moves, 4 business locations (5 if we count my garage when I first started) and has become a part of my children and my friend’s lives.
I now have some help in my store, but every item is made with love and understanding of how important this day will be for our customers. And I love nothing more than receiving pictures of the weddings we have helped create, and share them with my mom, who in turn shares hers with me.
